Restaurant Cafe Rheingold in Sankt Goarshausen

Great location on the Rhine with a great view from the beautiful terrace, service very nice, have already eaten there 3 times and the food was always great, as well as a nice Moselle wine, view of vineyards, Loreley ferry and castles ....., what more do you want ;-) Only a few hundred meters further is the Loreley rock and you can highly recommend driving this route towards Wiesbaden, in Kaub you can take the ferry, but it is definitely worth going to Bingen and crossing over there, because the whole thing Rheinmittelal is a fantastic experience :-)

Onion tart and spring wise were delicious. The staff is nice and the view of the Rhine is great.

So everything is fine here. Hefeweizen came after 15 minutes, excellent Maultaschen after 30 minutes on the chic roof terrace with a wonderful view of the Rhine!

Two stars for the friendly service. The food wasn't that big. Lukewarm, the roast pork could have been cooked a little longer. The grill plate was also quite clear. The Hackstak was not fried all the way through, a consistency like rubber. Strange. Unfortunately, I wouldn't eat there again. It's a shame, such a beautiful location on the Rhine.

We waited a long time for our table. The ice cream was not recommended. It tasted like good and cheap ice cream, with ice crystals. The glasses smelled like chlorine and the iced coffee was average. The service was not very friendly either. Not service oriented.

Wonderful location right on the Rhine. Sat on the roof terrace. The food was delicious (fresh chanterelles with tagliatelle) and we really didn't have to wait long for it. The selection of vegetarian dishes is unfortunately very limited. But that applies to almost all restaurants in Sankt Goarshausen / Sankt Goar. 😅

Friendly staff, clean and in principle beautifully located directly on the Rhine, but extremely limited choice of drinks, the menu is not exactly imaginative and unfortunately the food is neither special nor overly tasty.

Friendly staff and the food is also okay, except: you can leave the salad quite confidently, dried cucumbers and lettuce leaves, dressing hardly available and what is there is better to buy as a ready-mixed in every supermarket

Was here too. It also took a little longer. But we can be glad that in these times there are restaurants at all that try to keep up their business. With all these regulations at the moment, smooth operation can certainly not be guaranteed. And when I go out to dinner with my wife, I have time. As always, the food here was great, not to mention the view and location. We would love to come back!

We discovered this restaurant while passing through. Right on the Rhine, beautifully situated! The staff tried very hard despite the maddening activity. Requests are accepted and implemented by the kitchen. The waiting time can be a little longer, which is completely normal given the crowd! The food tastes really delicious, especially the cevapcici I liked very much. My husband can recommend the grill plate. All in all, it was a successful stay and worth a break.

We were on a motorcycle tour and stopped for lunch. The location is nice, the food was OK, but unfortunately everything took forever. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. If you just want to eat something for a moment, that's annoying. As a "reparation" we were offered an espresso, which was then forgotten. That's almost cheeky, we won't be back.

A very well located and at first glance very appealing restaurant. The food is average. The service unfortunately miserable. We stayed here twice during our vacation. The first time we got different wine than ordered, but did nothing. The salad came after eating but only when asked to do so. We forgave all of this because of the beautiful location and came a second time. That was a mistake. Now the salad came before the meal, but then 2 hours passed until the actual meal came. The food finally came at the third request and with the threat to leave. It is an outrage to deal with the time of the guests. I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant.

Hi. One should think that something will be tried after the corona loosening and the re-opening. We don't really have high expectations and are normal people but the experience in the restaurant was just annoying. We waited over 1 hour for food, my brother who only wanted one soup even longer. The pepper cream schnitzel was only acceptable, in my eyes the sauce had nothing to do with cream and tasted sour. The staff was unfriendly and if that was related to us, an older staff member behind our back said that you can go if it takes too long ..... If that were possible then I would not give a star. I guess this place only exists because it has a lot of walking customers and is exposed to a lot of tourism, people who often only come once. Never again

We had lunch here on April 20, 1987. I drank wine and my wife drank apple juice. A very friendly bearded shopkeeper answered fluently in English. It was a cute boy who brought the food. The food was very good and the dessert ice cream was good too. It is very nostalgic

Courtieous staff , amazing food and great decor

Great view of the Rhine. Absolutely high on the sun terrace to look even better :) Drinks came quickly. Service very nice. Cheesecake was delicious. Rabe cake unfortunately dry. The "decoration" peach was unfortunately bad, sour.

Good place for food

The food was decent but it took forever to get our menu and food. It wasn’t busy. Asked for the check 30 minutes before our Train was scheduled to leave...they disappeared. Tried to find them to get the check...no sight. Eventually just left money one the table and booked to our train and made it with 30 seconds to spare. The staff was generally just rude and trust me we weren’t asking for much service. Again, food was okay and the location is nice, but leave plenty of time to spare if you are waiting to catch a train.

Great views of the Rhine from the sunterrace. Fairly average menu but what they have is well cooked and good value.

Lovely location, eating outside overlooking the Rhine River. The service was thoughtful and pleasant. The food plentiful and tasty. Prices were reasonable. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner and had room to share warm apple strudel with cream for dessert. Would definitely eat here again.

Very nice place: we ordered fresh asparagus with Hollandaise sauce and apple strudel, both were perfect. Local Loreley Riesling was also fine. The staff was very fast and friendly. A great plus is a wonderful view of Rhein.
